Garden bean

The seeds were ordered in October 2025. By January, they were sown indoors, and before long, delicate white flowers with dark centers began appearing across the plant, a striking contrast to the rest of the garden in early spring. A few months later, those blossoms transformed into bean pods. Bees and other pollinators danced from flower to flower, and I found myself captivated. As a gardener, I was mesmerized. As a former chef- cook, I was impatient. As an artist, I was inspired. And so, the only sensible thing to do was document it, brushstroke by brushstroke. This plant marks the beginning of Seed to Canvas, a series of oil paintings that follows the journey of a seed from soil to a permanent home on my canvas, celebrating the transformation, wonder, and abundance found in a single growing season. A Studio Rhubarb original series.
