Before the Flight captures a brief moment of stillness before movement. Inspired by a real-life butterfly, this artwork pairs vibrant orange wings with a soft muted greens, allowing our winged friend to be the main focus. The contrast is striking both in nature and on the canvas.

Layers of colour, tone, and texture come together to create something delicate yet bold. Though the wings bear no tears or scars, that does not mean there is a lack of story. There is curiosity, ambition, and the quiet promise of flight.
For now, this little friend lives among the other winged companions on my studio wall. Oil on canvas 23,5 x 17,5 cm (6 × 8 inch)
