My approach to photographing children and families is very simply
derived from the images I most love of my own family. I
photograph people as naturally as possible with the intent of capturing
their real personalities. I work primarily on location with natural light when possible.
Children will surely change and grow. But years from now, I want to recall who
my child was in that brief moment. I want to be flooded with the
sensation of how they smelled and sounded and who I was with them just
by looking at that photograph.
